Well, we did it…10 of us…including a few new members. Our first ride of the season took place on Sunday April 30th. We started off at Sunnyside Café by Lake Ontario, on the boardwalk of the Martin Goodman Trail just south of Parkside Drive and High Park

We then made our way up the Humber River to just south of Lawrence Ave, where we grabbed a group photo beside the Hurricane Hazel monument. For those who don’t know what Hurricane Hazel was, surf over to www.hurricanehazel.ca We then made our way west along the Eglinton Ave bike path, south along the bike lanes of Royal York Avenue in Etobicoke, through the beautiful Kingsway Village area, then back east along the Queensway where we gathered for some well deserved pub n grub on the patio at Cadillac Lounge on Queen St. W., www.cadillaclounge.com in the heart of Queer West Village, Toronto Ontario.

It definitely helped being an amazing sunny day, with just enough winds blowing to make it a bit of a challenge.

Next up is our May 28th ride from Sunnyside Pavilion to the Leslie Street Spit following the Martin Goodman Trail through downtown and along Cherry Beach. Again, start time will be 12 noon and we aim to be finished by 4PM, which will include a stop during or after for some socializing. Please RSVP to gwbikeclub@hotmail.com (with a contact phone number) if you plan on attending.
